SOLA - Facial Oil Cleanser

 

I am so excited to be able to share this beautiful cleansing ritual with you.  I have been loving this oil cleanser for years now and my skin and senses drink it in every day.  

Sola is the very centre of our being, our source of light and connection. Tuning into the breath and the inner movement it creates, we become attentive to the physical body within the present moment. It's here we find our anchor and from this place of connection, begin anew. 

Sola is the starting point, the foundation, the cleanser — get this right and everything else falls into place. The nutritive oils and plant aromatics in Sola come together to calmly, yet deeply, cleanse the skin. Touch releases held tension and brings movement, flow and vibrancy to the skin. While breath work and warm compressing, shifts us into our natural, harmonious state of being. 

Although it sounds counterintuitive to use oils if you have an oily skin type or acneic conditions, the plant oils chosen for Sola work to decongest and restore balance to the skin's natural function, making it suitable for all skin types and conditions.

The SOLA ritual

Start with dry hands and a dry face, dispense 8 pumps of Sola into the palm of your hand. Pressing both palms together, bring to the face and hold cupped hands over the nose. Pause here for a few moments, becoming aware of the natural flow of breath.

From this place of awareness, inhale slowly and deeply through the nose. At the top of the inhale, allow the outgoing breath to flow out again through the nose, softly and effortlessly. Repeat this style of breath at least three times before beginning the cleanse.

Massage Sola over the face, neck, collarbones, and chest, encouraging circulation of the lymphatic system while deeply cleansing the surface and layers of the skin. Extra attention can be focused on any areas of congestion or tension within the body.

To remove, take a warm, damp facial compress cloth and press against the face. Pause to hold and breathe deeply three times before wiping away any residue. Rinse the compress cloth with warm water and repeat the 'press + hold + breathe' ritual one more time.

If removing makeup or sunscreen, cleanse the skin twice. The purpose of the first cleanse is to dissolve and remove anything on the surface on the skin. More time can be spent on the second cleanse, working at a deeper level, engaging in slower massage movements and breath work. 

SOLA ingredients

*Sweet Orange Citrus sinensis, *Helichrysym Helichrysum italicum, **Roman Chamomile Anthemis nobilis, ^Lavender Lavandula angustifolia, *Geranium Pelargonium graveolens, ^Frankincense Boswellia sacra, and Calendula blossom Calendula officinalis infused in a blend of *Sweet Almond Prunus dulcis, *Sunflower Seed Helianthus annus, and *Avocado Persea gratissima plant oils.
